2023 IC100 WinnerManchester, N.H. (December 13, 2023) โ€“ Cookson Communications โ€“ a visibility-focused communications agency with expertise in public relations, social media, marketing, design, and branding, has been named the 64th fastest inner city business by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC). Every year, ICIC identifies, ranks, and spotlights 100 of the fastest-growing businesses in under-resourced communities across the nation. Cookson Communications moved up 13 spots from its 2022 ranking of 77.

The 2023 IC100 winners were evaluated based on revenue growth during the four-year period from 2018 to 2022. The no. 64 ranking on the list was the result of Cookson Communicationsโ€™ revenue growth rate of 87.8 percent during that period.

“To us, the ICIC ranking is more meaningful because it highlights the work of urban companies such as ours,” said Matt Cookson, CEO. “Through our partnerships, weโ€™ve been working on numerous societal challenges such as the stateโ€™s anti-fentanyl campaign, youth behavioral initiatives, workforce development programming, skills training and promotion, and childcare to name a few. This work is critical and impactful and we look forward to building on it in the future.”

This yearโ€™s IC100 list was unveiled during an awards ceremony at ICICโ€™s 2023 Annual Conference held in Miami on December 12. The full list of 2023 IC100 award winners is availableย here.

“In 2023, small business owners redefine success amidst funding, economic, and societal challenges. Their journey is marked by resilience, seizing opportunities, and fostering community bonds. The 2023 Inner City 100 award winners used innovation and collaboration to not only survive but thrive. They pivoted, adapted, and transformed their businesses, embodying the entrepreneurial spirit. We applaud their grit and determination and stand in awe of their achievements,” said Steve Grossman, CEO of ICIC.
